AI & Voice Use Policy
Last updated: May 2026
SUMMARY
I do not consent to the use of my voice, narration, or written content on this website for training generative AI models, voice cloning, or any synthetic media generation. Citation in search results and AI-assisted discovery tools is permitted, with proper attribution and linking.
VOICE & PERFORMANCE
My recorded narration work is the product of years of training and professional craft. Regardless of who holds copyright in any specific recording of my voice, I have never consented to the use of my voice or performances for AI training, voice cloning, or synthetic media generation. Such use is unauthorized.
This stance applies regardless of source. Whether the audio is sourced from a commercial audiobook, a podcast appearance, a sample on this website, or any other recording: my consent has not been given for AI training or synthetic reproduction.
WEBSITE CONTENT
Written content on this website — including biography, casting notes, audiography descriptions, and any text I have authored — is original work that I have not consented to use as training data for generative AI text models.
I do permit:
— Indexing by traditional search engines (Google, Bing, etc.)
— Reading and citation by AI-assisted search tools (such as ChatGPT search, Perplexity, Claude search, and similar real-time search agents), provided the source is linked and attributed
— Standard archival by services such as the Internet Archive
I do not permit:
— Use of this content in training datasets for large language models or any generative AI system
— Scraping or bulk download for the purposes of building derivative datasets
— Republishing of substantial portions without permission
TECHNICAL ENFORCEMENT
This site uses both robots meta directives and ai-policy link tags to communicate these preferences to crawlers and AI companies. Compliance is requested from all crawlers and AI systems.
Specifically:
— Training-focused crawlers (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, CCBot, Google-Extended, Meta-ExternalAgent, Bytespider, and similar) are blocked via robots.txt and meta directives
— Citation-focused crawlers (ChatGPT-User, OAI-SearchBot, Perplexity-User, Claude-User, and traditional search engines) are permitted
CONTACT
If you are an AI company seeking to discuss licensing for either voice or written content, please contact me directly via the contact form on this site. If you believe my work has been used in violation of this consent stance, please contact me so I can address it.
CONTEXT
I publish this policy because the audiobook industry is in the early stages of contending with synthetic voice technology and unauthorized AI training data. Many of my colleagues — narrators, voice actors, and audiobook professionals — share these concerns.
Clear, public consent stances protect performers and signal to industry partners that consent matters. I support thoughtful, consensual integration of AI tools. I oppose the unauthorized use of working artists' labor in training AI systems.
